About RFID Middleware

The RFID middleware is in-between two different worlds. On the one hande there are RFID readers or other devices and on the other hand data is transported to an IT backend system or Enterprise Resource Planning system. The challenge using an AutoID infrastructure is its high fluctuation of the device firmware. Additionally, there are no standardized interfaces or layers between the hardware infrastructure and an application software. This is why it is useful to implement a middleware, if it is used for asset tracking or in an RFID supported supply chain.
